Gnarly Head Wines

"A passion for Zinfandel and a desire to make great Zin, led our winemaking team to Lodi, California's zinfamous appellation. But it was a sense of fun - wine should be fun, accessible, easy to understand and enjoy - that led us to create Gnarly Head Old Vine Zin. The sight of the free standing "head trained" vines found in older vineyards in California was the inspiration for Gnarly Head Old Vine Zin. These 35 to 80 year old vines have twisted old trunks and branches that spread out in all directions sprouting leaves like unruly umbrellas - truly gnarly heads. The grapes these old vines produce are small and few, but offer big flavor! But Zinfandel is not the only California grape that can be Gnarly. Our winemaking team selects grapes from some of the best vineyards in Northern California for our Gnarly Head Chardonnay, Merlot and Cab (Cabernet Sauvignon). Gnarly Head wines are easy to drink and pair with food, and made to bring people together, to enjoy with laughter, to celebrate past escapades and future adventures. Cheers! "

Alamos Malbec

Alamos Malbec presents a dark purple color with violet highlights. The nose offers bright black cherry aromas with light floral notes and a touch of toast. The mouthfeel is full and rich, with ripe, concentrated cassis and black raspberry fruit flavors interwoven with a touch of chocolate and sweet spice from light oak aging. This finish is long and lingering, with ripe, velvety tannins.

Featured Local Wine

Crown is proud to offer the full line of fine wines from the nearby Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery, Little York Road, Warwick, New York.  Wines include red and white grape derived as well as their three-time award winning Doc's Draft Hard Apple Ciders in three flavors.

Black Dirt Classic Red

It's created solely from the hybrid grape Baco Noir. The Baco Noir grape is an extremely hardy grape, grown very well in New York State.

2006 Riesling

Riesling is one of the less-appreciated grape varietals in the Western World. However, if there is one New York State wine that is "world class, this is it!

2004 Merlot

This wine was crafted from 100% Merlot grapes picked at peak ripeness. After 24 months of aging in French oak, the result is a rich wine with approachable tannins and ample fruit.

Harvest Moon

This Cayuga/Vidal blend exhibits intense peach and ripe apricot aromas. Its semi-dry style and well balanced acidity make it a perfect complement for spicy dishes, fish, or just relaxing with good company.

Black Dirt Blush

This rather unique wine is a blend of Catawba, Vincent and Delaware grapes which are varieties native to Eastern North America.

2006 Pinot Noir

Our Pinot Noir is fruity, yet dry and has an extraordinary compatibility with food. While it is very well matched with more delicate and subtle dishes, Pinot Noir is irresistible when paired with more highly seasoned, smoked and even spicy dishes.
